Book of Life

Our life may be likened to a book

One with many, many chapters

A grand thesis which begins at birth

And continues throughout our life

There will be highs and lows

Parts of fact and fiction

Yet all a precious experience

Adding to the wisdom of our existence

You are the conductor who controls the music

What music will you play?

What notes will you send out across the cosmos?

The most profound story you will ever read

Your own

And now I share part of my own story with you

May it assist you to create your own

And may the beauty of your music be heard

Throughout all of time and space

And so it is

‘Dance Of The Heart’

Review

Dance of the Heart, Marie Henson’s first literary pursuit, provides a refreshing

perspective on a long debated topic: what is love, how do we attain it and, once attained,

how do we preserve it?  Rather than presenting a philosophical treatise Marie takes us on a

journey of self-discovery, encouraging yet never pushing us towards our destination

and scheduling plenty of opportunity for rest and meditation along the way.

Marie has a destination in mind for her readers – the summit of an incredible mountain,

and she intends to make sure we all scale its heights with our sense of humour in tact.

To Marie, love is a ‘mountain’ – a force of nature.  Like many mountains it is created as

a result of pressure and upheaval, but once formed it defines the human landscape, acting as a landmark

by which we can navigate, providing a reference point for both our outbound journey and our return home.

As with any mountain the ‘mountain of love’ requires effort to scale, however the view from the peak is well

Worth the effort.  How we approach the climb is a matter of individual choice but Marie kindly provides us

with the Obligatory compass and map.

Marie is an optimist, presenting a logical argument that focuses on the development of self-love as the

Precursor to greater achievements, ones, that if the exercises she recommends are regularly practiced

And mastered, will affect change on a planetary scale.

One of the greatest strengths of Dance of the Heart is Marie’s appreciation that we are all human – that we

have limited time and abundant distractions that preclude the dedicated pursuit of our true potential.

Instead of berating us for our all too often lazy approach to self-improvement, she shares with

a refreshing sense of humour, her secret of integrating the key principles of her message into everyday life.

As a teacher of healing I appreciate the power of conveying personal experience and Marie’s writing is filled

with anecdotes that strengthen her argument and add flair to her discourse.

I recommend Dance of the Heart to any one dedicated to self-awareness, the power of thought and their

application to healing.  The conversational tone of her writing lends weight to her argument that this

is an honest book, written, as any about love should be – from the heart!
